Enhancing Cyclist Safety with Haptic Intelligence

What is your background?

CycleAid was founded by a group of passionate and innovative university students with a shared vision for improving cyclist safety. Our team brings together diverse backgrounds and expertise, including engineering, technology, and business development, to create a groundbreaking solution that addresses the pressing safety concerns faced by cyclists. Our collective dedication and commitment drive us to make a positive impact on cycling safety and the broader community.

What inspired you to start your business?

The inspiration for starting CycleAid came from a deep concern for the safety of cyclists on the road. As avid cyclists ourselves, we were acutely aware of the risks and challenges faced by cyclists, especially in an era where Electric Vehicles (EVs) and distracted driving are on the rise. We were motivated by a shared passion to find a solution that would significantly enhance the safety of cyclists, allowing them to enjoy their rides without constant worry.

What problem are you solving?

CycleAid aims to solve the critical problem of cyclist safety on the road by addressing the increasing dangers posed by Electric Vehicles (EVs), climate change, distracted driving, and inadequate cycling infrastructure. With our innovative sensor technology utilizing AI and haptic feedback, we aim to provide cyclists with real-time, non-distracting alerts about potential hazards, helping prevent accidents and injuries. We intend to keep cyclists' eyes on the road while simultaneously making cycling safer, more accessible, and an attractive eco-friendly transportation option in an evolving urban landscape.

Who and where are your potential customers?

Our potential customers include cyclists of all levels, commuting cyclists, recreational riders, and competitive athletes, as well as environmentally conscious individuals seeking safer and sustainable transportation options.

What do you think is the potential for your business?

The potential for CycleAid is significant and promising. With the growing global concern for cyclist safety and the increasing popularity of cycling as a sustainable mode of transport, our innovative technology addresses a pressing need in the market. As the only solution using both haptic feedback and AI for cyclist safety, and with a competitive price point, we have a unique advantage. The UK government's substantial investment in cycling infrastructure further aligns with our mission, providing a favorable regulatory environment. With effective marketing and strategic partnerships, CycleAid has the potential to capture a substantial share of the cycling safety market and make a meaningful impact on improving cyclist safety globally.

Where do you hope to be 5 years from now?

In five years, we aspire to be a leading name in cyclist safety technology, with our innovative product widely adopted and trusted by cyclists around the world. We envision a significant reduction in cycling accidents and injuries, thanks to our technology's widespread use. We aim to have established strong partnerships with cycling organizations, government bodies, and eco-conscious initiatives, driving the adoption of our safety device as a standard for cyclist safety. As a company, we hope to have expanded our product line, continuing to push the boundaries of safety technology, while simultaneously promoting cycling as a safer, more sustainable mode of transportation.
